Penn State Behrend Tops Men’s Tennis Saturday Afternoon

Box Score ERIE, Pa- Jacob Chovanec (Mt. Pleasant, Pa, Mt. Pleasant) remained undefeated and moved to 7-0 on the season with a victory at no. 4 singles, but the Pitt-Greensburg men's tennis team lost 8-1 at Penn State Behrend Saturday afternoon in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference battle.

Chovanec came out on top in his singles match, defeating Brent McFarland in the longest match of the day. Chovanec won the opening set 7-6 and McFarland forced a deciding third set with a 6-2 victory. The two continued to battle, but it was Chovanec that won the third set 13-11.

Zachary Pivirotto (Export, Pa, Franklin Regional) dropped his first singles match of the season and his record stands at 6-1 through seven matches. The Bobcat senior fell to Yanique Apgar 6-0, 6-2.

Pitt-Greensburg returns to the court Friday, when it plays host to Franciscan at 4:30 p.m.
