Box Score BETHANY, W.Va.- The Pitt-Greensburg men's tennis team came up just short in its regular-season finale, falling 5-4 at Bethany College Wednesday afternoon.
The Bobcats would fall behind early dropping all three doubles matches, but would battle back with a spirited effort in singles play.
Zachary Pivirotto eased to a win at #1 singles, 6-4, 6-2 over Chris Ray. Pivirotto ends his season with an 8-1 mark in singles action.
Jacob Chovanec also improved to 8-1 on the year, picking up a 6-0, 6-0 victory in the #4 position.
Jeremy Simms claimed a win for the Bobcats at #5 singles, in what was the longest match of the afternoon. Simms dropped the opening set 6-0, but battled back and forced a third-set tiebreak with a 6-4 win in set two. Simms ultimately came out on top, with a 10-5 win in the tiebreak.
Terrance Madarish posted the final victory for Pitt-Greensburg, taking down the #6 singles match, 6-3, 6-1.
