WAYNESBURG-
Bri Burgunder's 25th minute strike lifted the Pitt-Greensburg women's soccer team to a 1-0 triumph over Waynesburg Wednesday evening at John F. Wiley Stadium.
The victory was Pitt-Greensburg's fourth in a row and improves its record to 5-1-1 on the season, including an impressive 3-1-1 mark on the road.
Burgunder's goal was the ninth of the season, which is tied for the top mark in the conference with Jordan Oberlander (Penn State Behrend). Burgunder also now leads the AMCC with 21 points.
Waynesburg generated much of the offense Tuesday night outshooting Pitt-Greensburg 15-2, including 7-0 in the second half, but Bobcat goalkeeper
Kaitlyn Watson was solid in goal recording five big saves to record her second shutout of the season. Watson has allowed just one goal in three appearances this season and currently boats a 0.37 goals-against-average as well as a .909 save percentage, both of which are tops in the conference.
Pitt-Greensburg looks to continue its winning ways Saturday, when it hosts the six-time defending AMCC Champion, Penn State Behrend to Ridilla Field. Saturday's kick-off is set for 3:15 pm.
