PITTSBURGH-
Camille Hickman's first half goal gave the Bobcats a 1-0 advantage, but Chatham scored three second half goals to defeat the Pitt-Greensburg women's soccer team by a score of 3-1 in a non-confernece matchup Wednesday evening at Highmark Stadium.
Hickman notched her first goal of the season in the 30th minute, as the senior midfielder took a cross from
Cierra Geiger and buried a shot into the back of the net for the 1-0 lead.
Chatham outshot the Bobcats by a count of 12-3, but senior
Shannon Edwards made four saves in the first 45 minutes of action to keep the Cougars off the scoreboard.
|Just three minutes after the halftime intermission, the Cougars tied the game at one on a brace by Darby Robinson. Chatham continued to push in the second half en route to a 10-2 advantage in shots and would find the back of the net a total of three times in the second half of action.
Victoria Vernail put the Cougars ahead by a goal with a strike in the 54th minute and Megan Sieg put the game out of reach with Chatham's third goal of the match in the 86th minute.
Hickman totaled a team-high two shots, while
Camdyn Bass,
Allie Grimm, and
Hayley Hulbert each added a shot opportunity for Pitt-Greensburg.
The Bobcats return to action for two games this weekend at Bethany College in West Virginia. Pitt-Greensburg will face Bethany Friday afternoon at 4:30 pm and wrap up the weekend with a matchup against Wilson College Saturday morning at 11:30 am.
