NEW WILMINGTON- Nadege Durand posted her second double-double of the season, but the Pitt-Greensburg women's basketball team (1-2) came up short falling 59-46 in a non-conference matchup at Westminster (2-2) Tuesday evening inside Buzz Ridl Gymnasium.

Durand led the way offensively for the Bobcats tallying 14 points, 14 rebounds, and also added four steals, while Maddie Sitler was also in double-figures with 13 points on 5-of-9 from the floor. Colleen Murphy provided assistance on both ends of the court with nine points and nine rebounds.

The Bobcats made things tough for the Titans with great defense throughout the entire evening, forcing 18 turnovers and recording nine steals. Pitt-Greensburg turned the extra possessions into 15 points as well as four fast break points.

Three players reached double-figures for Westminster, led by Jackie Mathews who scored a game-high 16 points and also added four rebounds as well as three steals.

Westminster got off to a fast start opening the game on a 7-0 run over the first two minutes and would push its advantage to 12-2 with 5:02 left in the opening quarter.

Pitt-Greensburg would claw its way back and reeled off an 11-3 margin over the final five minutes of the quarter to cut the deficit to 15-13 heading into the second stanza. Following a three-pointer by Magen Polczynski with 4:10 remaining, Pitt-Greensburg held Westminster scoreless for the remainder of the quarter.

The Titans outscored Pitt-Greensburg by a 15-10 margin and headed into the halftime break holding a 30-23 advantage.

The Bobcats put together an impressive defensive performance in the second half, holding the Titans to just 32% shooting the floor and 3-of-8 from three-point distance, but Westminster came up clutch from the charity stripe and held off the charge from Pitt-Greensburg, knocking down 8-of-10 from the free-throw line.

Pitt-Greensburg returns to action Saturday afternoon, as it takes to the road to face Waynesburg for a 1:30 tip-off.
