Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

@UPG_WBB Has Win Streak Snapped At Hilbert

HAMBURG, N.Y.- The Pitt-Greensburg women's basketball team (6-17, 6-10 AMCC) had its three-game win streak snapped Saturday afternoon, falling 72-52 at Hilbert College (18-5, 15-1 AMCC) in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference matchup inside the Hafner Recreation Center.

Pitt-Greensburg struggled on the offensive end over the opening 20 minutes, hitting just 4-of-29 and would trail 40-14 at halftime, but put together a much better second half, outscoring the Hawks 38-32 on 43% from the field.

Kelsey Oddis led the way with 21 points and 10 rebounds for the Bobcats, while Nadege Durand chipped in with 11 points, 10 boards, two blocks, and two steals. Sam Ballow was also in double-figures for the visitors, tallying 10 points, and the freshman guard also proved to be a pain for the Hawks defensively, totaling a game and career-high six steals.

Hilbert had four players in double-figures, led by Kelsi Ebert's 18 points on 6-of-13 shooting, while Emily Gawlak recorded a double-double with 15 points and a game-high 17 rebounds.

The Bobcats did a commendable job on the offensive boards, outrebounding the Hawks 18-15 on the offensive end and forced 17 turnovers, which they converted into 16 points, compared to just 10 for Hilbert.

Hilbert opened with the game's first points on a layup, but Oddis came right back and drilled a three to give the Bobcats a 3-2 advantage early on in the opening quarter. However, the Hawks reclaimed the lead on a three-pointer from Ebert and continued to hold the advantage for the remainder of the afternoon.

Despite going cold from the floor in the first half, the Bobcats outscored the Hawks 38-32 in the second half on 43% from the floor, making 15-of-35 attempts.

Hilbert would hold on for a 72-52 victory. Pitt-Greensburg hits the road for its final regular-season road contest Wednesday, when it travels to La Roche. Wednesday's matchup is for set for 8 pm.
