Volleyball Drops Two Matches In DC

WASHINGTON, D.C.- The Pitt-Greensburg volleyball team lost in both of its matches Friday afternoon at the Catholic University of America Tournament. The Bobcats dropped their opening game to Chatham (12-25, 17-25, 14-25) and host Catholic (10-25, 18-25, 5-25) in the second game of the day. 

Pitt-Greensburg wraps up play at the tournament tomorrow, facing Wesley College at 10 am, followed by a matchup with Salisbury at 12 pm. 

Offensively, freshman Alexis Ray totaled 14 kills to lead the Bobcats, while Brittany Eyler added nine and both Marissa Leonard and Sabre Turner added six kills each. Ray posted a team-best .143 attack percentage, committing just eight errors on 42 attacks. 

Emma Dongilli displayed her talented play on both ends of the court, posting a team-best 34 assists, as well as 13 digs. Kassi Niver contributed with 12 digs and Ray added 10 digs. Also aiding the play on the defensive end were both Ray and Turner, who each totaled a block assist, while Leonard also posted a solo block.
