Men's Basketball Stopped At D'Youville

BUFFALO, N.Y.- The Pitt-Greensburg men's basketball team (4-11, 1-7 AMCC) lost 105-72 to D'Youville (6-8, 4-4 AMCC), in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference matchup Saturday afternoon inside the College Center Gymnasium. 

Matt Johnson totaled a team-high 14 points off the bench to lead the Bobcats, followed by nine from Cam Seigfreid, and eight points and six rebounds from Brady Kingston

Five players were in double-digits for D'Youville, led by a game-high 23 points from Brian Nwaekeke and 19 from the AMCC's leading scorer, Jeremy VanDuluitgaarden.

Despite coming up short in the win column, Pitt-Greensburg shot the ball well from three, connecting on 10-of-25 attempts and generated a season-high 10 steals, which it converted into 20 points off the turnovers. 

Both teams shot the ball well in the first half with Pitt-Greensburg hitting 14-of-31 for 45.2%, while D'Youville countered with 21-of-35 for a scorching 60.0%. The Spartans also were helped by six three pointers compared to just two for the Bobcats and D'Youvile led 49-32 at halftime. 

The second half featured an excellent display of three-point shooting from both schools as they combined for 15 three-point makes. The Bobcats connected on 8-of-16, while the Spartans hit 7-of-12. 

D'Youville shot 59% from the floor after halftime and would go on for a 105-72 victory. 
The two teams will turn around and face each other Monday afternoon inside Chambers Hall. Monday's matchup is set for 3 pm.
