Women's Soccer Takes Down Juniata In Non-Conference Final Tuesday Afternoon

GREENSBURG- The Pitt-Greensburg women's soccer team defeated Juniata by a score of 2-0 in its non-conference finale Tuesday afternoon at Ridilla Field.

With the win, Pitt-Greensburg moves to 10-0-0 overall, while Juniata falls to 2-6-2.

Ashley Lucas netted her 14th goal of the season just 84 seconds into the match to put the Bobcats up 1-0 and Tiffany Michalek extended the Bobcat lead to 2-0 in the 28th minute with her 12th of the campaign.

Once again, the Bobcats put together a dominant performance on both ends of the field, outshooting the Eagles by a count of 21-3 and defensively held Juniata to just two shots on goal.

Sophomore goalkeeper Lauren Yoder made two saves en route to her 7th shutout of the season.

The Bobcats notched two goals on seven shot attempts in the opening 45 minutes, but following the break and holding a 2-0 lead, the home side did not sit back and defend the lead. Pitt-Greensburg continued to attack the Eagle net and doubled its shot total in the second half (14), putting half of its attempts on goal (7).

Pitt-Greensburg returns to action Saturday afternoon, playing host to D'Youville at 4:15 pm.
