Women’s Soccer Shuts out Medaille To Remain Undefeated

GREENSBURG – The Pitt-Greensburg women's soccer team remained undefeated after shutting out Medaille College 4-0 Saturday afternoon at Ridilla Field. With the win, Pitt-Greensburg improves to 13-0-0 and 5-0-0 in AMCC.

Sophomore Lauren Yoder remained sharp in net throughout the 90 minutes of play, making four saves en route to her 10th shutout of the season.

In the win, the Bobcats recorded 40 shot attempts, with 19 of those reaching the net. The Bobcats also played a strong defensive game shutting the Mavericks down offensively, limiting the visitors to just six shot attempts on the afternoon.

Pitt-Greensburg got on the score board early when freshman Ashley Lucas scored her 17th goal of the season in the 7th minute of the game. The goal was assisted by sophomore Tiffany Michalek.

In the 53rd minute Lucas kicked the ball toward the net and junior Allie Grimm headed the ball into the goal for her fifth strike of the year, giving Pitt-Greensburg a 2-0 lead.

In the 80th minute, Michalek added her 14th of the year and with three minutes left in regulation, Megan Downey found the back of the goal for the first time this season to send the Bobcats to the 4-0 win.

Pitt-Greensburg looks to stay hot when they take on Franciscan University on Tuesday (Oct 15) at 3:15 pm in Steubenville, Ohio.
