Second Half Goals From Bedoya And Michalek Lift Women's Soccer To 3-1 Win Over Mt. Aloysius

YOUNGWOOD- Second half goals by Juliana Bedoya and Tiffany Michalek propelled the Pitt-Greensburg women's soccer team to a 3-1 victory over Mt. Aloysius Wednesday afternoon at Westmoreland County Community College. 

With the win, Pitt-Greensburg improves to 16-0-0 overall and 8-0-0 in the AMCC, while Mt. Aloysius falls to 9-3-4 and 4-2-2 in the conference. 

Ashley Lucas opened the scoring for Pitt-Greensburg, drilling home her 22nd of the year in the 20th minute to put the Bobcats up 1-0. 

Both teams were deadlocked at one at the halftime break following a strike from Jenna Gardner in the 35th minute. The match remained all tied at one with 15 minutes remaining in regulation, but that would all change in the 82nd minute. Bedoya found the back of the net for a second-straight game with a blistering shot into the upper right hand corner of the net to put the Bobcats up 2-1.

Holding a 2-1 advantage with less than five minutes left in regulation, Michalek used her speed dribbling past multiple defenders and scored her 16th of the season to send the Bobcats to the 3-1 victory. 

Lauren Yoder recorded her 15th win of the season with three saves for the Bobcats. 

Overall, Pitt-Greensburg outshot Mt. Aloysius by an 18-10 margin and totaled eight corner kicks compared to just four for Mt. Aloysius. Defensively, the Bobcats held the Mounties to just four shots in the second half. 

Pitt-Greensburg returns to action Saturday afternoon, playing host to Penn State Behrend for Senior Day at 3:15 pm. Prior to the match, Pitt-Greensburg senior defender Tori Conroy will be recognized.
