Schropp Posts Career-Best 16 Kills In Loss At La Roche

PITTSBURGH- Despite a career-best 16 kills from sophomore Mackenzie Schropp, the Pitt-Greensburg women's volleyball team lost 3-1 at La Roche in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Contest, Tuesday evening inside the Kerr Center.

La Roche would go on to win the match by scores of (26-24, 21-15, 25-21, 25-21).

Schropp put together an all around effort for the Bobcat in defeat, posting a career-high 16 kills and a .250 attack percentage, which is her third highest of the season. The sophomore now has tallied double-digit kills in four of her last six matches.

Emma Halutick also reached double-digits in kills for Pitt-Greensburg, posting 13 kills on 35 swings for a .171 hitting percentage, while Savanna Stephens added seven kills in the loss.

Defensively, Zoe Sheffler had three blocks to lead the team, followed by Halutick who added two stuffs. Emma Dongilli paced the offensive attack with 33 assists and on the defensive side had 15 digs. Senior Libero Kassi Niver led the way with 33 digs, while Schropp had eight.

From behind the service line, Pitt-Greensburg did a great job of mixing up its serves totaling nine aces, four of which came from Dongilli and two each from Schropp and Stevens.

Pitt-Greensburg returns to action Friday evening, playing host to Grove City at 7 pm.
