Men's Tennis Posts 9-0 Shutout Victory Over Thiel

GREENSBURG- The Pitt-Greensburg men's tennis team earned its second win of the season, posting a 9-0 shutout victory over Thiel, in a non-conference match Friday afternoon at the Greensburg Racquet Club. 

The Bobcat pairing of Turner Price and Vaughn Hunkele rolled to an easy 8-2 victory at #1 doubles and the duo of Michael Meyer and Terrance Madarish made quick work of Thiel in the #2 match, 8-1. Francisco Garcia and Andrew Oden also earned a victory in the final doubles match. 

Price did not allow a point in the top singles match, winning 6-0, 6-0,  Madarish posted a 6-0, 6-3 win, and Hunkele rolled to a 6-0, 6-1 victory in the #3 match. Oden played the longest match of the afternoon, but would come out on top 10-2 in the third and final set. Oden and Tyler Novak split the first two sets, but it was Oden that came out on top in the third and final deciding stanza. 

Garcia and El Abbass also posted wins in the final two singles match of the afternoon. 

Pitt-Greensburg returns to action tomorrow afternoon, playing host to Penn State Altoona at 12 pm.
