Women’s Soccer Scores Three Unanswered Goals To Top Waynesburg Tuesday Night

WAYNESBURG- The Pitt-Greensburg women's soccer team scored three unanswered goals as it topped Waynesburg 3-1 in a non-conference matchup Tuesday evening.

With the victory, Pitt-Greensburg remains perfect with an 8-0-0 overall record, while Waynesburg falls to 2-7-0.

Ashley Lucas, Tiffany Michalek, and Allie Grimm all scored goals for the Bobcats, while Alexsia Barlamas and Jenna Conty added assists in the win.

Pitt-Greensburg faced its first deficit of the season as Waynesburg connected on a penalty kick just over 90 seconds into the second half, but the Bobcats responded with three unanswered goals to hold on for the win.

Trailing 1-0 after the PK conversion, the Bobcats continued to control the attack which would pay off in the 68th minute, when Lucas took a pass from Barlamas outside the 18 and buried a shot just under the cross bar for her 11th of the season and her fourth-straight game with a goal.

Just under five minutes later, Pitt-Greensburg broke the 1-1 tie on a penalty kick by Michalek.

With under five minutes left in regulation and the game still in the balance, Grimm headed home a corner kick from Conty to put the game out of reach and send the Bobcats to the win.

Pitt-Greensburg returns to action Saturday afternoon, when it takes to the road to face Hilbert at 4:15 pm.
