Women’s Volleyball Posts Wins Over Alfred State And D’Youville Saturday

ALFRED, N.Y.- The Pitt-Greensburg volleyball team posted 3-0 victories over Alfred State (25-11, 25-11, 25-20) and D'Youville (25-17, 25-20, 25-16) Saturday afternoon at Alfred State University.

Mackenzie Schropp led the way offensively with 19 kills, followed by 16 from Emma Halutick and Alexis Ray, who also had double-digit kills with 10. Emma Dongilli totaled 52 assists and seven service aces, both of which led the team, while on the defensive side, Zoe Sheffler posted five blocks, and Kassi Niver had 24 digs.

As a team in the two games played Saturday, the Bobcats had 64 total kills and posted a .229 hitting percentage. Pitt-Greensburg put together a great display serving the volleyball, totaling 18 service aces, while committing just seven errors.

In the opening game of the day, Pitt-Greensburg totaled 28 kills and posted a season-best .273 hitting percentage. The Bobcats were equally as impressive in their victory over the Spartans, totaling 36 kills and had a .202 hitting percentage.

Pitt-Greensburg returns to action Wednesday evening, playing host to Franciscan at 7 pm.
