Men's Tennis Falls To Geneva Despite Wins At Top Two Singles Matches

GREENSBURG- The Pitt-Greensburg men's tennis team came up short in its first match of the spring season, falling 7-2 to visting Geneva College, Friday afternoon at the Greensburg Racquet Club. 

Geneva came out strong and picked up victories in all three doubles matches to a grab a 3-0 lead heading into singles action.

Pitt-Greensburg came right back and laid claim to the top two singles matches. Turner Price made quick work at #1 singles, rolling to a 6-2, 6-1 victory. Chris Marinchek would follow suit as the sophomore recorded a straight-set win at #2 singles. Marinchek was victorious in a tiebreak to win the opening set, then carried the momentum into the second set, which he would win 6-3. 

Geneva would pick up victories in the final four singles matches and would win the match by a score of 7-2. 

The Bobcats return to action March 1, when they travel to Buffalo, N.Y. to face Medaille at 12:30 pm.
