Women's Tennis Rolls Past Mount Aloysius, 8-1


EBENSBURG, PA - The University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg women's tennis team completed a weekend sweep of Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponents with an 8-1 win at Mount Aloysius College this afternoon.

The Bobcats improve to 7-2 overall in the fall and stay perfect in the AMCC, at 5-0. The Mounties fall to 1-6 and 1-5 in conference.

Doubles:

Pitt-Greensburg took care of business in all three doubles matches. Cathryn Rossi and Isabella Lane got it started with an 8-4 win in the #1 spot.

The Bobcats would not allow another point in doubles, with 8-0 wins by both the #2,  Abigail Rosman / Amber Sterrett,  and #3,  Kelsey Murphy / Grace O'Malley, duos.

Singles:

Pitt-Greensburg continued the one-sided affair in singles play, as they secured five two-set sweeps, four of which of the 6-0, 6-0 variety, while only surrendering one match 

Rossi picked up a 6-3, 6-1 win in the #1 spot to start singles play.

Rosman, Sterrett, Lane, and Murphy swung their way to double bagel victories over their opponents.


The Bobcats won each of their two matches this weekend by a score of 8-1. In singles play they tallied eight 6-0, 6-0 wins, and in doubles play they posted two 8-0 wins on the weekend. Rosman and Sterrett did not lose a single game in either of the two matches.

Pitt-Greensburg will wrap up AMCC play this Wednesday in Altoona, PA. The Bobcats will take on Penn State Altoona at 5 pm.
