Men’s Tennis Drops Tight Match To Penn State Altoona

GREENSBURG- The Pitt-Greensburg men's tennis team lost a tightly contested match to Penn State Altoona, Sunday afternoon at the Greensburg Racquet Club.
After a back and forth contest for much of the afternoon, it was Altoona that would claim a 5-4 win over Pitt-Greensburg.

Pitt-Greensburg got off to a great start, picking up wins at #1 and #3 doubles to begin the match. Turner Price and Vaughn Hunkele reeled off a 8-2 win in the top spot, while Andrew Oden and Francisco Garcia gutted out an 8-6 win in the #3 spot.

In singles, the Bobcats recorded wins in the top two spots, but Penn State Altoona came roaring back with victories in all four of the remaining matches.
Price rolled to a 6-0, 6-1 win in the #1 match, while Hunkele allowed just three points in a 6-0, 6-3 victory.

Oden, Garcia, and Glessner all pushed their matches into a tie-break, but all three players for UPG would fall just short.

Pitt-Greensburg ends its regular-season with a 2-2 record in AMCC play and will wait to see if it qualifies to the conference tournament, April 17-18.
