Offensive Struggles Hurt Bobcats against Bethany

The Pitt-Greensburg Women's Volleyball was riding a high into its match tonight after sweeping Rt. 30 rival Saint Vincent last night. However, the Bobcats were not able to put together another win, dropping a match to Bethany 3-0. Bethany beat the Bobcats 25-14, 25-23, and 25-20.
 
After dropping the first set, the Bobcats were able to rally to make the match close, coming within two points of the Bison. The third set included much of the same, with UPG dropping the set late. 
 
After recording a season high in kills last night, Pitt-Greensburg struggled on the attack against Bethany, recording 23 less kills than the Bison. Emma Halutick led UPG in kills with eight, followed by Madison Martin with three, and Savanna Stephens with two. Martin led the team in kill attempts with w2 while Halutick finished the match with 16 total attempts. 
 
Bethany had a well-rounded attack with the highest number of attacks kills for one player being ten. Three other players recorded more than five kills in the match. Jess Moore led the Bison with 26 total attacks and recorded just two attack errors. 
 
Halutick also led the Bobcats on defense with ten digs. Abigail Lescallette also contributed with eight. Taylor Logan led the team in assists with 15. 
 
Pitt-Greensburg will take the court in Chamber Hall on Saturday when they host Hiram at 1 pm.
