Women's Tennis Downs Penn State Behrend

Box Score ERIE, PA - The University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg women's tennis team finished off their weekend road trip with a 7-2 win over Penn State Behrend this afternoon.

The Bobcats advance to 4-1 and 3-0 in the AMCC with the win.

Doubles:

Penn State Behrend got ahead early with an 8-6 win in the #1 match.

Emily Ruhlman and Abigail Rosman got the Bobcats on the board with a dominating 8-1 win in the #2 match. 

Amber Sterrett and Isabella Lane finished off doubles play with a thrilling 8-6 victory.

Singles:

Pitt-Greensburg put the match away in the singles portion of the match, as they owned five of the six matchups.

Ruhlman, Miranda Berkebile, Rosman, Sterrett, and Lane picked up the wins for the Blue and Gold. All five were straight set wins. Rosman's came in the form of a double bagel.

The Lions were able to edge out Cathryn Rossi in a tiebreaker to avoid a clean sweep of the singles matches.


Pitt-Greensburg will return to the court Thursday, when they host Thiel College at the Greensburg Racquet Club. First service is slated for 12:30 pm.
