Women's Tennis Topples Tomcats

GREENSBURG, PA – The University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg women's tennis team rolled past visiting Thiel College, 8-1, this afternoon at the Greensburg Racquet Club. 

The non-conference win improves the Bobcats season record to 5-1. The Tomcats fall to 1-4 on the season. 

Doubles: 
 

Pitt-Greensburg swept the doubles portion of the match for the first time this season. 

They were led by Abigail Rosman and Amber Sterrett, who teamed up for the first time this season and won 8-0 in the #2 doubles match. 

Cathryn Rossi and Miranda Berkebile kicked doubles play off with an 8-5 victory in the #1 spot. 

Isabella Lane and Kelsey Murphy improved to 2-0 as a duo this year with an 8-4 win to cap off doubles play today. 

Singles: 
 

Thiel opened up singles play with a convincing 6-1, 6-0 victory, but the Bobcats put a quick halt to any momentum. Pitt-Greensburg rattled off five consecutive straight set wins to end the match. 

Rosman and Sterrett continued their strong play into singles, as they both took home 6-1, 6-0 sweeps. 

Lane dominated 6-1, 6-2 in the #4 spot, while Berkebile and Mariah Ulery bookended the five straight wins. 

Pitt-Greensburg moves to 4-0 all time against the Tomcats with today's win. 

The Bobcats will be in Washington, Pa for their next match on Saturday. First service is at 1 pm from Washington and Jefferson College.
