GREENSBURG – It was a tale of young and old for the Bobcats in the women's soccer senior day matchup against the Pioneers of Alfred State. The team celebrated its four seniors who have made an impact on the program since their first year on campus. It wasn't just the seniors celebrating tody, however, as freshmen
Megan Hickey and
Sarah Folmer also were feeling in a party mood as they scored goals for the Bobcats.
Sophomore
Paige John earned the shutout for the Bobcats as they team locked down the Alfred State offense. Even with this being a conference game, all 21 Bobcats were able to see the pitch and play meaningful minutes. John was the only Bobcat to play the full 90 in the net.
The Bobcats take a early stranglehold on first place in the AMCC as the team is 2-0 and has outscored its two opponents 12-0.
While there is more AMCC play on the horizon, there are also some other things for the Bobcats to play for in the upcoming games. With her two goals today, senior
Ashley Lucas is now two goals from tying the women's soccer record for career goals held by Pitt-Greensburg Hall of Famer Jen (McIntosh) Luciew. That's not all. With one more win, head coach
Chuck Wigle will reach the 100-win milestone in his time at Pitt-Greensburg. He would be the first soccer coach to reach that milestone.
