GREENSBURG – Ten Bobcats scored, led by Sidney McCully with 21 points, in a 99-73 blowout win for the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg women's basketball team over Pitt-Bradford this afternoon inside Chambers Hall.
Lizzie Penrose had a career-high of 14 points off four triples and pulled down eight rebounds, as she made her fourth start of the season.
Pitt-Greensburg (15-4, 10-2) put up their second most points in a game this season and tied their season-high with 42 made field goals.
The Bobcats started strong with a 23-10 first quarter and never let up. It was a wire-to-wire victory for the Blue and Gold, who led by as many as 33 points (96-63) with three and a half minutes left in the game.
The extra pass was made time and time again by the Bobcats, as they posted a season-high assist night. The team assisted on 28 of the 42 field goals, paced by Melina Maietta with seven, with ten Bobcats recording an assist.
Senior, Nadege Durand poured in 16 points and filled up the stat line with six assists, five rebounds, and four steals.
Shaquoia McCray made it seven of the last eight games with double digit rebounds, as she posted her fourth double-double of the season behind a 15-point, 10-rebound performance. The Bobcats yet again dominated the glass, ending the game with a +21-rebounding margin (51-29). Twenty of the Bobcats' boards came on the offensive end.
Pitt-Greensburg owned the edge in nearly every statistical category, including a 60-42 outscoring in the paint.
The Bobcats will now hit the road for two straight next week. First up is a trip to take on Penn State Altoona on Wednesday at 5:30 pm. Pitt-Greensburg won the last battle 56-45 on January 19 in Greensburg.
