Hickey Nets Two Goals; Bobcats Shutout Jackets

WAYNESBURG – AMCC Offensive Player of the Week Megan Hickey netted two more goals and freshman keeper Hailey Kepner made four saves and earned her first collegiate win as the Bobcats defeated the Jackets of Waynesburg 2-0.

The Bobcats were on the attack for the majority of the match, out shooting Waynesburg 18-7 while recording nine shots on goal compared to the Jackets four.

Hickey recorded four shots with three of them on goal. Hickey leads the team in goals with six on the season in 468 minutes played through six matches. On top of Hickey, the Bobcats received a lot of on-field leadership from upperclassmen as juniors Haley Priah-Felix and Nylah Pannebaker played the full 90. Also playing the full 90 was sophomore Julia Rowe and Freshman Abby Henise.

The defense of the Bobcats has been hitting their grove in the past week, giving up just three goals in four matches with two shutouts.

Leading the way off the bench was junior Becca Kubler who played 37 minutes as well as Logan Jennings who played 31 minutes in her season debut.

Pitt-Greensburg will take the rest of the week to rest before they are back home on Sept. 19 as they play Geneva at Ridilla Field.
