Bobcats Keep it Close; Fall Short to Bearcats

LATROBE, PA – Bobcat women's volleyball is spending their weekend on the campus of Saint Vincent College for a two-day event with multiple teams. The first match of the weekend took place tonight as Pitt-Greensburg dropped its first match of the year to the Bearcats in three sets.
 
UPG was withing striking distance in two of the three sets, dropping the first set 25-23 and the second set 26-24. The second set was an anomaly through the first two matches for the Bobcats, as Saint Vincent won the set 25-14.
 
Senior Emma Halutick set the tone for the Bobcats as she recorded 16 digs, eight kills and two service aces. Fellow senior Savanna Stephens also had a strong match as she led the team in blocks to go along with five kills.
 
Freshman Sidney Haysley also was a huge contributor with five kills and ten digs. Sophomore Abby Copeland was also strong on defense, recording eight digs herself.
 
Setters Taylor Logan, Grace Bradley and Kaylee George all recorded assists int the match, with Logan leading the way, recording eight assists.
 
The Bobcats have two matches tomorrow, both at Saint Vincent. UPG will take on Westminster at 1 PM and follow that up with a match against Penn State-Berks at 3 PM.
