Lucas' Two Goals Lead Bobcats Past Blue Streaks

GREENSBURG - Two Ashley Lucas goals and another by Freshman Maya Wertelet propelled the Bobcats past John Carroll at Ridilla Field on Wednesday. Pit-Greensburg put nine of 16 shots on goal and kept the pressure on the Blue Streaks throughout to bring the team to 6-2 on the season.

The lone John Carroll goal came from leading scorer Emily Patrzyk in the 14th minute. That goal tied the game after Wertelet's second career goal put Pitt-Greensburg ahead in the third minute. Freshman Hailey Kepner earned the win for the Pitt-Greensburg, saving five out of six shots she faced. The lone ball that got past her just went over her outstretched arms to get in the net.

Wertelet led the team with four shots, all of which getting on goal. Lucas played 70 minutes as a reserve and had two goals on two shots. Logan Jennings also recorded three shots in the 47 minutes she played. Alexz Rosser and Megan Hickey also recorded multiple shots for the Bobcats.

Pitt-Greensburg will be back in action this Saturday as they travel to take on future AMCC foe in the Celtics of Carlow. Kickoff will be at 2 PM.
