Women's Basketball Drops AMCC Semi Finals Rematch to Behrend

GREENSBURG – It was a rematch of last year's AMCC Semi Finals in Chambers Hall this afternoon between Pitt-Greensburg and Behrend. Unlike the thrilling game last season, the Bobcats fell short in the teams' first meeting of the season. The Lions defeated the Bobcats 90-61.

Three Bobcats scored in double-figures, including seniors Lizzie Penrose and Sidney McCully. McCully dropped 11 while Penrose had ten points. Both got it done on the boards as well, with 13 rebounds coming between the both.

Freshman Madison Scalese and Tiana Moracco also were strong on the boards, as the two combined for eight offensive rebounds.

The Bobcats are yet to find their range from behind the arc, as the team shot just 15.8 percent from three-point land. Two of those three shots came from the Bobcats leading scorer, Melina Maietta. Maeitta made of total of three field goals in the game, with two of them coming from behind the arc. She also went four-for-four from the line.

Behrend did a number to the Bobcats on the offensive boards, securing 20 rebounds off of their own shots. The Lions shot 45.4 percent from the floor and 83.3 percent from the line.

The challenges keep coming for the Bobcats as they look to halt this two-game losing streak against the defending AMCC Champion La Roche RedHawks in Chambers Hall. Tip off will be at 7 PM.
