Women's Basketball Struggles Against La Roche

GREENSBURG – The Pitt-Greensburg women's basketball team was coming into its game on Wednesday in the middle of a tough stretch where they play three of the top teams in the conference in consecutive games. Pitt-Greensburg dropped its third game in a row, this time to the defending AMCC Champion La Roche RedHawks.
 
The RedHawks took an early lead and didn't look back as they kept the Bobcats in check with a full court press and played tough defense to make every bucket difficult. La Roche also held the ball deep into the shot clock much of the first half, executing their scheme perfectly to secure a basket at the end of their possessions.
 
Overall, the RedHawks shot over 54 percent from the floor and scored 48 points in the paint. Sidney McCully scored a game-high 23 points and collected seven rebounds while Madison Scalese and Melina Maietta also scored in double figures.
 
Makayla Abram and Danajah Sanders led the way for La Roche, scoring 22 points and 16 points respectively.
 
The Bobcats will travel to Bradford this weekend to take on Head Coach Darien Lantz's alma mater in Pitt-Bradford. Tip off will be at 4 PM.
