Maietta's Hot Shooting Leads Bobcats Past Pioneers

GREENSBURG – It was just a season ago that Melina Maietta tied her then head coach Kelsey Oddis with three pointers made in a single game. Maietta hit that mark yet again in the Bobcat victory over Alfred State.

Maeitta scored 28 points and hit seven three-pointers to lead the Bobcats to a 65-61 win over Alfred State. Chloe Lukondi hit a big three point shot in the fourth quarter that was the beginning of the end for the Pioneers. Tiana Moracco also had a solid game coming off the bench, scoring ten points and securing eight rebounds.

Sidney McCully didn't have her normal scoring output, but stuffed the stat sheet with eight rebounds, five assists, and four steals.

The Bobcats shot close to 93 percent from the free-throw line, missing just one shot. Lukondi went 2-for-4 from behind the arc for the Bobcats.

Pitt-Greensburg turned the ball over just seven times and forced Alfred State into 15 turnovers. The Pioneers went to the line 19 times but were able to shoot just 63 percent.

Faith McCombs scored 22 points for the Pioneers and secured 21 rebounds. The Bobcats were able to get out in the fast break, outscoring Alfred State 19-4 in transition.

Pitt-Greensburg will travel to La Roche on Wednesday to take on the RedHawks for the second time in two weeks. Tip off will be at 7 PM.
