2002-03 Women's Basketball Team

This year we honor the first, and only, team to win a game in the NCAA Tournament. The 2002-03 Pitt-Greensburg women's basketball team finished its season on top of the AMCC with a 10-2 record while going 23-7 overall, earning the program's first AMCC Championship. The Bobcats defeated Mount Saint Mary in the first round of the tournament 62-54. The team included All-AMCC players in Annie Sral, Erin Arnold, and Jess Porter. Pitt-Greensburg Hall of Famer Carol Gelet was the head coach.

Dr. Frank Cassell (Administrator)

Dr. Frank Cassell, the third President of Pitt-Greensburg, was at the helm when the department went into the NCAA. He, along with Hall of Famers Dan Swalga and Rick Fogle, navigated uncharted waters to get the programs into the NCAA competition. Cassell now joins Swalga and Fogle in the Pitt-Greensburg Athletics Hall of Fame.

Adam Dicarlo ('06) (Men's Soccer)

Our next honoree wrote the Pitt-Greensburg men's soccer record book. Adam DiCarlo scored 63 goals from 2002-05 and accumulated 143 points for the Bobcats. His 63 goals are 20 more than the next closest in the record books while his 143 points are 13 clear of second place. DiCarlo was named AMCC Newcomer and Player of the Year in 2002 while being named first team All-AMCC from 2002-2004. The AMCC Celebrated its 25th Anniversary in 2022 and named its top players of the first 25 years of the conference. Dicarlo was one of the players named to the All-Anniversary team.

Zach Kocian ('08) (Men's Cross Country)

Zach Kocian is one of the most decorated athletes in the history of Pitt-Greensburg. He earned all-conference distinction all four years at Pitt-Greensburg and held the fastest 8k time in program history up until this October when Bobcat sophomore Ethan Barrick outpaced Kocian's record. Kocian finished No. 8 twice in the AMCC Championship Meet, which was his best finish.
