Men's Basketball Drops Quarterfinal Matchup to Behrend

GREENSBURG – The Bobcat men's and women's basketball teams hosted its first playoff doubleheader since the 2014-2015 season tonight. The men led the night off with a battle against the Lions of Penn State Behrend. Pitt-Greensburg won the previous two meetings this season by a combined five points.
 
The Bobcats took a three-point lead into the half, however, were outscored by 16 points in the second half and dropped the quarterfinal matchup by 76-63. Tommy DiRienzo shined for the Lions, scoring 35 points, 24 of them coming in the second half. He went 6-of-9 from behind the three-point line.
 
Three Bobcats scored in double figures, including freshman Matthew Marinchak who had a solid first half and scored 15 points, including three shots from behind the arc. Reggie Priah had a 16 point and 11 rebound double-double. Decorated senior JoJo France was the leading scorer in his final appearance as a Bobcat, scoring 18 points.
 
Junior Will Butler also had a solid showing, scoring seven points, including a three-pointer in the second half. The Bobcats limited the turnovers, but shot just 28 percent from behind the arc.
