Men's Soccer Falls in Tough Matchup to Fighting Muskies

PITTSBURGH — The Pitt-Greensburg Men's Soccer team continued its 2024 campaign with a tough 3-0 loss against Muskingum University on October 2. Despite a valiant effort from sophomore goalkeeper Nick Braun, who made five saves, the Bobcats struggled offensively throughout the match, managing only four shots, with just one on target.

Muskingum controlled the game early, outshooting the Bobcats 10-1 in the first half and 13-3 in the second, for a total of 23 shots to Pitt-Greensburg's four. The Bobcats' defense held firm in the first half, with Braun making four crucial saves, but Muskingum broke through with three goals in the second half to seal the victory. Corner kicks favored Muskingum 7-3, leading to one of their goals. Despite Muskingum committing six fouls to the Bobcats' 11, Pitt-Greensburg couldn't find the momentum to shift the tide in their favor.

The Bobcats fall to 2-7-1 on the year, and will look to regroup as they prepare for their next AMCC match on Saturday in Erie, PA against Penn State Behrend.
