Men's Soccer Shuts Out RedHawks

The Pitt-Greensburg men's soccer team earned a crucial 2-0 victory over La Roche on October 23, 2024, at the Baierl Athletic Complex in Pittsburgh. With the win, UPG improved to 4-10-1 overall and 3-3-0 in AMCC play, while La Roche fell to 2-11-2 and 2-4-1 in the conference.

UPG struck first in the 28th minute with Ethan Rose scoring his first goal of the season, assisted by Matt Armenio. Armenio later found the back of the net himself in the 42nd minute, extending the lead to 2-0 before halftime.

Defensively, Pitt-Greensburg held strong, with goalkeeper Brett Barnes recording three saves to secure the clean sheet. UPG's defense allowed just three shots on goal from La Roche, shutting them down in the second half.

Pitt-Greensburg managed six shots overall, five of them on target, and controlled the game with 4 corner kicks. They will look to build on this momentum this weekend as they take on Alfred State. Saturday, Oct. 26 the Bobcats will travel to Alfred, NY in a pivotal AMCC match up.
