Men's Basketball Wins Overtime Thriller Over Grove City

GREENSBURG - Forty minutes wasn't enough for the Bobcats men's basketball team as they took on the Wolverines of Grove City in the season-opener inside Chambers Hall on Saturday. The Bobcats were down as many as 14 in the first half, but came back to take the lead in the final minutes of the second half. Neither team was able to take an advantage after the second half, but the Bobcats outscored the Wolverines by two points in overtime to take a 78-76 win. 

Four Bobcats scored in double-figures including Michael Bigley who made his Bobcat debut. Bigley scored 23 points to go with six rebounds, three assists,  and three steals. Matthew Marinchak,  was a huge contributor, scoring 17 points in 37 minutes. Joziah Wyatt-Taylor and Trent Rozich were the final two Bobcats in double-figures. The Bobcats totaled 11 steals in the game, including five from Rozich. 

Pitt-Greensburg scored 42 points in the paint and 20 points off turnovers. Overall, the Bobcats shot over 47 percent from the floor. The Wolverines shot over 40 percent from behind teh arc.

The Bobcats will be back inside Chambers Hall on Tuesday when the Jackets of Waynesburg pay a visit to Greensburg. Tip off will be at 7 PM.
