Women's Basketball Outlasts Tomcats

GREENVILLE, PA - The Pitt-Greensburg women's basketball team had its best shooting day of the season, knocking down 50 percent of their shots, with four players scoring in double figures to help the Bobcats win their second game of the season and the team's last game of 2024 by defeating Thiel 74-72.
 
Tianna Moracco had a career day, scoring 20 points, grabbing 16 rebounds, stealing five steals, and dishing out five assists. Autumn Matthews had a career-high with 17 points. Jocelyn Bielak recorded a ten-point, 11-rebound double-double. Rakiyah Porter also scored in double figures with ten points.
 
The game was tied at 72 with 1:34 left in the final quarter, but free throws by Moracco and Trinity Lockwood-Morris helped season the game for the Bobcats. Overall, Pitt-Greensburg shot 11-16 from the free-throw line. The Tomcats shot the ball 86 times from the floor but shot just 34 percent as the Bobcats' defense held them in check.
 
Pitt-Greensburg will welcome the Pioneers of Alfred State to Chambers Hall this Saturday as the team will play the back half of the first home AMCC Doubleheader for the Bobcats. The tip-off will be at 3 PM.
