Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Turnovers Hurt Men's Basketball in Loss to Altoona

ALTOONA, PA—The Pitt-Greensburg men's basketball team got to the free-throw line 25 times, including 19 times in the second half, scoring 17 points from the line, but the Lions of Penn State Altoona locked down on defense to hold all but two Bobcat scorers under ten points. Sophomore Trent Rozich and junior Michael Bigley scored 21 and 20 points, respectively, while Rozich also secured 14 rebounds. Bigley's 20 came in 33 minutes.

The Bobcat reserves combined for 11 points and 11 rebounds, as the Lions were able to keep the Bobcats in check on the offensive end. Altoona was led by Dwayne Jones, who tallied 25 points and 17 rebounds. Kal-El Gentles and Nehemiah Frye also scored in double figures, with 18 and 12 points, respectively.
The box score shows a relatively even game, with neither team gaining a significant edge. However, turnovers hurt the Bobcats, as Pitt-Greensburg surrendered the ball 21 times for 19 Altoona points. The Lions turned the ball over 12 times for seven UPG points.

The Bobcats will look to right the ship on Saturday as they travel to Penn State Behrend for the back half of the back-to-back against the Penn State branch campuses. Tip-off will be at 2 PM.
