Bobcats Shooters Shine in Victory Over Mounties

GREENSBURG – On Jan. 17. The Pitt-Greensburg women's basketball team traveled to Cresson to take on the Mount Aloysius Mounties. The Bobcats were defeated by Mount 81-73. Fast forward to tonight and the teams met again in the middle of a battle to host a first-round AMCC playoff game. The home court proved to huge as the Bobcats defeated the Mounties 85-72 behind 29 points, seven rebounds, and five assists by AMCC Player of the Week and Bobcat junior Melina Maietta. Maietta also had five three pointers which was her best shooting night in recent times.
 
Three other Bobcats scored in double figures including a 14 point, 13 rebound, and five assist performance by sophomore Madison Scalese. Sophomore Tiana Moracco added 15 points of her own while freshman Sarah Penrod dropped 12. Pitt-Greensburg shot 48 percent from behind the arc and went 15 of 17 from the free throw line.
 
The Bobcats will control their own destiny towards a home playoff game as they travel to Bradford to take on the Panthers. Tip off will be at 2:00 PM and it will be the last game of the AMCC regular season for both teams.
