Softball Sweeps Competition in Day Two of Spring Games

KISSIMMEE, Fla – The Pitt-Greensburg softball team swept away its competition in day two of their Spring Break schedule. The Bobcats defeated New England 8-6 and Saint Mary's 9-3.
 
The Bobcat offense was scorching hot as the team recorded 23 hits between the two games. Senior Madison Stonbraker continued her hot start as she had four hits in game one and three hits in game two. She drove in six RBI and scored two runs. Three freshmen hit extra base hits in game one with Makenzie Lang and Hunter Taylor hit doubles and Jadyn Davis had a triple.
 
Game two saw Kylie Karns have two hits and another freshman record an extra base hit. Julia Jastrebski was the winner in game two while  Karns took the win in game one. Junior Melanie Mienke came in relief in game two, striking out five batters to bring her season total to 15 strikeouts.
 
The Bobcats will continue their spring schedule tomorrow in Clermont, Fla.
