Baseball Falls in Final Day of RussMatt Invitational

DAVENPORT, Fla – The Bobcats finished up their spring break competition at the RussMatt Invitational in Central Florida with an early morning game against Rutgers-Newark. The Bobcats fell behind 7-0, only to come back to make the game 7-3 and have the bases loaded with no outs in the bottom of the eighth inning. A line-out double play crushed the Bobcats big inning.

Freshman right fielder and Bobcat of the Week, Zachary Tyson hit a two-run home runs while sophomore James Domer had the Bobcats' other run batted in. Calvin Bernard pitched five innings in relief, giving up two earned runs over six hits. The Bobcats tallied a total of nine hits in the game.
