Softball Splits Thursday Slate

KISSIMMEE, Fla - It was a split for Pitt-Greensburg softball in the team's Thursday slate of games. The Bobcats defeated Ripon 6-4 and lost to Southern Maine 6-2.

Three Bobcats had multiple hits in game one of the day, including freshman Jadyn Davis, junior Beatrice Cook, and senior Madison Stonbraker. Stonbraker is batting .600 on the season through six games and has ten runs batted in. The Bobcats needed five runs in the fourth and fifth inning to take the lead and keep it. Junior Kylie Karns earned the win, her second of the season.

The Southern Maine pitching halted the Bobcat offense in its tracks in game two, as Pitt-Greensburg was only able to record two hits and struck out six times. Junior pitcher Melanie Mienke and junior second baseman Kylie Karns had the two hits, while Karns earned the two RBI. Mienke went six innings and four of the six runs she gave up were earned.

The Bobcats will play their final games of spring break tomorrow at 10 AM and 12:30 PM.
