Softball Finishes The Spring Games 5-5

LEESBURG, Fla. - It was a successful trip to Florida for the Pitt-Greensburg softball team as they finished their ten-game slate an even 5-5. Today, the Bobcats split their final day of competition by losing 6-1 to St. Norbert and defeating McDaniel 3-0.

Melanie Mienke earned her second win of the week and struck out six batters, bringing her season total to 26. Mienke also went 3-for-3 at the plate with two runs scored. Senior Kacey Weller had two hits in the game as the designated player and drive in a run on a double. Freshman Madison Gardner also had a multi-hit game with a runs scored. The Bobcats had 11 hits total in the game. 

The Bobcat offense showed up in both games today, as Pitt-Greensburg had seven hits in the loss to St. Norbert. Madison Stonbraker upped her average .583 while going 2-for-4 from the plate. Stonbraker also drove in the Bobcats only run.

Pitt-Greensburg will return back to Pennsylvania on Saturday. The team's next game will be at Geneva on Wednesday.
