Softball Swept by Lions

ALTOONA - The Pitt-Greensburg softball team is off to its best start in AMCC play in recent memory. The Bobcats lost just one of their first six AMCC match ups coming into its doubleheader against Altoona. The Lions put a damper on the party as the Bobcats dropped both against PS Altoona.

Pitt-Greensburg jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning of game one with a Hunter Taylor single, scoring Jadyn Davis who led off the game with a triple. The Bobcats again took the lead in the fourth inning when Kylie Karns drove in Beatrice Cook with a single down the left field line.Three PS Altoona runs in the fifth inning off Melanie Mienke gave the Lions enough for the win.

Game two was tied going into the fourth inning, but Altoona scored two runs in both the fourth and fifth inning to take a four-run lead. The Lions out hit the Bobcats 12 to 8 and had two extra-base hits.

The Bobcats make-or-break week will continue on Friday when Wells will travel to Greensburg. First pitch of game one will be at 3 PM.
