Cold Shooting Night Haunts Women's Basketball Against Altoona

ALTOONA, PA – The Pitt-Greensburg women's basketball team took the trip to Altoona to take on the Lions of Penn State Altoona inside Adler Arena. Freshmen Jocelyn Bilak and Autumn Matthews scored in double figures, and junior Tiana Moracco had a team-high of 11 rebounds, but the Bobcats fell to Altoona 57-46.

Avanna Sayles led the way for Penn State Altoona with 15 points and 17 rebounds. Moracco missed out on another double-double for the Bobcats by one point, as she recorded nine in the game. Trinity Lockwood-Morris and Moracco played the full 40 minutes with Lockwood-Morris scoring six points with six rebounds and three steals.

The Bobcats struggled shooting inside a new gym for most of the players. The team went 0-for-14 from behind the arc and shot just 35 percent from the free-throw line. Pitt-Greensburg did force Altoona into 20 turnovers, and it scored 14 points off those turnovers.

The Bobcats will travel to New York on Saturday to take on the Pioneers of Alfred State. The women will play the doubleheader's second game, and their tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m.
