The Pitt-Greensburg women's volleyball team dropped a three-set decision to Penn State Behrend on Saturday afternoon at the Junker Center, falling by scores of 25-17, 25-7, and 25-12 in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) play.
Despite a strong start in the opening set that featured five tie scores and four lead changes, the Bobcats (2-17, 0-2 AMCC) were unable to maintain momentum against the Lions (15-5, 2-0 AMCC), who hit .361 as a team and recorded 42 kills to Pitt-Greensburg's 12.
Mia Stohon and Abigail Smulik led the Bobcats offensively with three kills apiece. Smulik also contributed three assists and two digs, while Lilly Buckles posted a team-best .667 hitting percentage with two kills on three attempts and added seven digs.
Defensively, Emily Hernandez paced the team with nine digs, and Grace Bradley chipped in with four. Pitt-Greensburg totaled 27 digs and two block assists in the match.
The Bobcats will look to bounce back as they travel to LaRoche on Wednesday. Game time is scheduled for 7PM
