Moder Co-POY, 3 Others Named to All-Conference Tennis Team

Today the AMCC announced the all-conference teams for women's tennis, and the Bobcats are well represented, placing 4 athletes on the teams.

Sophomore Gabi Moder was named AMCC Co-Player of the Year, sharing the title with Tamanna Sharma from Penn State Behrend and Lexi Colaianni from Penn State Altoona. Along with player of the year honors, Gabi also named 1st team all conference in #1 doubles with partner Nancy Jiang and 2nd team all conference in #1 singles. In #1 singles, Moder had a 5-5 overall record, 4-1 in AMCC play. In #1 doubles, Moder and Jiang had a 8-2 overall record and 4-1 in conference play. This marks Moder's 2nd 1st team all-conference selection in as many years.

In addition to her 1st team #1 doubles recognition, Nancy Jiang was also honored with 2nd team AMCC in #3 doubles, a flight where she recorded a 6-4 overall record, 4-1 in AMCC play. This marks Jiang's 2nd all-conference award in as many years.

Two Bobcat freshmen have also earned their first all-conference selections in their first seasons. The #2 doubles pair of Karen Rabe and Sophia Lepore took home 1st team all-conference honors after recording a 6-3 overall record, and 4-1 record in AMCC play. Karen Rabe was also named 2nd team all-conference in #2 singles after a 7-3 overall record and 4-1 in AMCC play.

With these four Bobcats making the all-conference teams in just their freshman and sophomore seasons, the future looks bright for Coach Deven Summers and the Bobcat women's tennis program.
