The University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg women's volleyball team dropped a home Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) matchup to Mount Aloysius on Wednesday evening at Chambers Hall, falling in straight sets (6-25, 20-25, 14-25).
After a challenging opening set, the Bobcats showed strong resilience in the second frame, battling point-for-point with the Mounties and keeping the score within reach behind a more consistent offensive rhythm and improved defensive coverage. Despite their efforts, Pitt-Greensburg was unable to overcome a late Mount Aloysius surge.
Mia Stohon led the Bobcats offensively with eight kills, adding a service ace and four digs to her performance. Paige Phillips contributed three kills and a block assist, while Abigail Smulik chipped in two kills, a pair of aces, and five digs. Setter Lilly Buckles paced the team with five assists and 10 digs, helping stabilize the back row. Grace Bradley anchored the defense with a team-high 14 digs, while Shyann Dongilli and Smulik each added a pair of service aces.
As a team, Pitt-Greensburg recorded 16 kills and 46 digs, highlighted by their competitive play in the second set where they posted their highest attack percentage of the evening.
With the loss, Pitt-Greensburg moves to 2–22 overall and 0–6 in AMCC play, while Mount Aloysius improves to 18–6 overall and remains unbeaten in conference action at 6–0.
The Bobcats return to action Saturday in a non-conference tri-match at Saint Vincent and Westminster. The games are scheduled for 3&5PM.
