The Pitt-Greensburg women's soccer team delivered a commanding performance on Saturday afternoon, rolling to a 9-0 win over Pitt-Bradford at the Kessel Athletic Complex. The Bobcats improved to 4-6-2 overall and 1-0-1 in AMCC play with the victory.
Pitt-Greensburg wasted no time asserting control, scoring five goals in the first half and adding four more after the break. The offensive outburst featured contributions from eight different goal scorers, while the defense held Pitt-Bradford to just two total shots and no shots on goal.
Emma Reyes led the way, scoring twice and adding an assist. Sydney Hares continued her breakout season with a goal and an assist, while Megan Hickey, Sarah Folmer, Maya Wertelet, Isabella Swartz, Bella Carroto, and Raelin Henry each found the back of the net. Henry's goal in the 82nd minute marked the first of her collegiate career.
Dionna Santia, Sierra Frisoli, Bella Carroto, and Maya Wertelet also chipped in with assists.
The Bobcats outshot the Panthers 22-2 and earned nine corner kicks to Bradford's one. Goalkeeper Mia Camps played all 90 minutes and recorded her second shutout of the season without needing to make a save.
Pitt-Greensburg opened the scoring in the 11th minute when Hickey finished a pass from Wertelet. Folmer doubled the lead in the 24th minute, and Reyes added her first goal in the 31st. Hares and Reyes scored back-to-back goals late in the half to give UPG a 5-0 cushion at the break.
Wertelet struck again early in the second half, followed by goals from Swartz, Carroto, and Henry to cap off the scoring.
The Bobcats return home on Tuesday and will host Carlow at Ridilla Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 4PM.
