Bobcats Fall to Penn State Altoona on the Road

The Pitt-Greensburg women's volleyball team traveled to Altoona Tuesday evening for a road match against Penn State Altoona at Adler Arena. The Bobcats fell in straight sets (15-25, 7-25, 14-25) to the Lions, who improved to 14-11 overall and 6-2 in AMCC play.

Despite the loss, Pitt-Greensburg (2-25, 0-7 AMCC) showed flashes of resilience, particularly in the third set where the team posted its highest kill percentage of the night (.147). Mia Stohon led the Bobcats offensively with six kills on 17 attempts, hitting .235 and contributing six points. Paige Phillips added four kills and two digs, while Abigail Smulik chipped in three kills and a team-high nine assists.

Defensively, Grace Bradley anchored the back row with a match-high 22 digs, while Lilly Buckles added 15. The Bobcats totaled 57 digs as a team, showing strong effort in keeping rallies alive against a potent Altoona attack.

Penn State Altoona controlled the match with a balanced offense, hitting .310 as a team and recording 44 kills to Pitt-Greensburg's 19. The Lions were led by Maggie Brewer and Jayden Ulmer, who combined for 17 kills and hit over .450.

The Bobcats close out the season Saturday at home, playing host to Pitt-Bradford. The game is scheduled for a 2pm start.
