Bobcat Women Pick Up First AMCC Win at Pitt-Bradford

The University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg women's basketball team collected its first AMCC win of the season Saturday afternoon, posting a convincing 62–47 road victory over Pitt-Bradford. The Bobcats led wire-to-wire and turned in a balanced performance on both ends to improve to 1–1 in conference play.

The Bobcats controlled the opening half with excellent defensive pressure, holding Bradford to just 14 points through the first 20 minutes. Pitt-Greensburg led 17–8 after the opening quarter and extended the margin to 33–12 late in the second. The defense forced 16 steals in the game and limited Bradford to just 21.1 percent shooting from the floor.

Offensively, Pitt-Greensburg got a major lift from its frontcourt. Autumn Matthews recorded a monster double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds, adding two blocks and two steals. Kaylee Charles delivered 16 points, eight rebounds and six assists while consistently breaking down the Bradford interior defense. Ca'Mari Walden added 11 points and six rebounds, knocking down a key third-quarter three to quell a Panther run.

The Bobcats cleaned the glass throughout the afternoon, finishing with a +10 rebounding advantage (52–42). Six players grabbed at least four boards, highlighted by Anna Durbin's eight rebounds and Jocelyn Bielak's six. Bielak also led the team with six assists, while Hailey Bock contributed six points and six rebounds off the bench.

Pitt-Greensburg shot 41.8 percent from the field and went 5-of-15 from three. The Bobcats also outscored Bradford 32–16 in the paint, showing strong interior finishing all game long.

Bradford's comeback efforts in the fourth quarter cut the lead to 12, but Matthews, Charles, and Walden each converted key baskets down the stretch to secure the win.

With the victory, Pitt-Greensburg moves to 1–6 overall and picks up its first conference win. They return to conference action Saturday for their first home game in almost a month as they take on Alfred State for a 1PM tipoff, followed by the men's game at 3PM.
