Softball Earns Third Win of the Season; Splits Thursday Slate

WINTER HAVEN, FL – The Pitt-Greensburg softball team earned its third win of the season, splitting its Thursday slate against Simmons and Bluffton.
 
Game One
 
Sophomore Jadyn Davis went 2-for-5 with two runs batted in and two runs scored. Hunter Taylor also had two hits with three RBI. Makenzie Lang and Brenna Altman also batted in runners in the game.
 
Melanie Mienke earned her second win, striking out ten batters over seven innings and scattering 11 hits over the game. Jessica Dunn had two stolen bases, and Jadyn Davis swiped a bag.
 
Game Two
 
The Bobcats made just one error in the game against Bluffton but managed only five hits and three runs, while the Beavers had 18 hits and 17 runs. Sophomore Sadie Kelly scored two of the five hits and two runs. Madyson Hart had two RBI in the game.
 
The Bobcats used three pitchers, with freshman Rebecca Huss pitching the bulk 2.2 innings. Paige Phillips struck out one batter and gave up seven hits.

Pitt-Greensburg will play the University of Northwestern from Minnesota and Wentworth tomorrow, with the games at 9 a.m. and 1:45 p.m.
